What can I expect?

You can expect a small-group experience that’s personal, unhurried, and built around authentic connection. This isn’t a standard group tour, it’s a carefully planned journey through parts of China most travelers never see.

You’ll visit well-known landmarks like the Great Wall, but not the crowded section most tourists go to. Instead, you’ll walk a quieter stretch where the landscape and history speak for themselves. Each day blends cultural exploration, local encounters, and time to simply take it all in. Expect professional planning, comfortable accommodations, and guides who help you see China with fresh eyes, its traditions, its people, and its modern spirit.

Do I need a passport and/or Visa?

U.S. citizens need a tourist visa (L-visa) to enter China. Your passport must be valid for at least six months beyond your travel dates and have two blank pages.

You’ll complete the China Online Visa Application form, then submit your signed application and passport to a Chinese consulate or visa center. As of 2024, tourist visas generally don’t require proof of flights or hotel bookings.

When should I apply for my visa?

It’s best to start your visa application about 8–10 weeks before departure. This allows time to complete the online form, gather documents, and mail your passport to the Chinese consulate or visa center.

Processing times can vary, but most tourist visas are issued within 2–3 weeks once all materials are submitted.

I’ll walk you through each step and help make sure your paperwork is complete and submitted on time.

If you plan to renew your passport before the trip, do that first — your visa must be issued into your current, valid passport.

What is included in the cost?

Your journey includes private ground transportation, boutique accommodations, meals, and all entrance fees to scheduled attractions. With a small group size (max 8), you'll receive personal attention and flexibility to adapt the itinerary to your interests.
